Biography
Scrim is a New Orleans rapper and producer best known as one half of $UICIDEBOY$, blending dark trap beats with raw, introspective lyricism.
He began releasing music on MySpace in 2009 under the alias “adudenamedscrim” as a producer. His earliest known appearance was in 2010, producing and featuring on Real Like True Stories by Coolest. He later released his own mixtapes, including Narcotics Anonymous, #DrugFlow, Patron Saint of Everything Totally Fucked, and Nightmare on Rising Sun Street.
Scrim formed $UICIDEBOY$ with his cousin Ruby Da Cherry, quickly gaining cult status for their gritty sound and prolific output. The duo became icons of the underground rap scene, influencing a generation of artists with their bleak aesthetic and aggressive delivery.
Despite being deeply associated with $UICIDEBOY$, Scrim also explored solo work. In 2020, he returned to his original alias with the personal and cathartic album A Man Rose from the Dead, delving into recovery, fame, and identity.
Scrim’s career reflects a journey through addiction, self-destruction, and rebirth — themes that continue to shape both his solo work and $UICIDEBOY$ legacy.
