Biography
Silverstein is a Canadian post‑hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000 and named after the beloved children’s author Shel Silverstein.
Formed in 2000, Silverstein quickly built a dedicated following with early EPs. Their debut album "When Broken Is Easily Fixed" (2003) blended emo, hardcore, and metal, surpassing sales expectations.
Their sophomore release, "Discovering the Waterfront" (2005), showcased faster, energetic tracks and earned a Juno nomination, expanding their audience through extensive touring.
Subsequent albums like "Arrivals & Departures" (2007) and "A Shipwreck in the Sand" (2009) highlighted evolving sound and lineup changes, marking growth in creative ambition.
Later works such as "A Beautiful Place to Drown" (2020) and "Misery Made Me" (2022) solidified Silverstein’s legacy, with over one million albums sold worldwide.
