Biography
Jessie Reyez (born June 12, 1991) is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for blending R&B and soul. Her 2016 hit "Figures" peaked at No. 58 on the Canadian Hot 100 and went triple platinum.
Born in Toronto to Colombian parents, she learned guitar from her father and started writing music in high school. After working various jobs, she joined The Remix Project in 2014, which helped launch her career. Her debut EP Kiddo (2017) earned her Breakthrough Artist at the Juno Awards.
Reyez followed with Being Human in Public (2018), which won R&B/Soul Recording of the Year and was Grammy-nominated. She collaborated with Eminem and 6lack before releasing her debut album Before Love Came to Kill Us (2020), which reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
In 2022, Reyez released her second album, Yessie, featuring 6lack. With multiple Juno wins and Grammy nominations, she remains a powerful voice in contemporary R&B.
