Biography
Roy Woods is a Canadian singer, rapper, and songwriter, best known for his smooth vocal style and blend of R&B and hip-hop.
Born Denzel Spencer in 1996, he gained recognition after signing with Drake’s OVO Sound in 2014. His debut EP Exis (2015) featured the Drake-assisted single Drama, which helped him break into the mainstream. He followed up with Waking at Dawn (2016) and Say Less (2017), both of which charted in Canada and the U.S.
Over the years, Roy Woods has released multiple projects, including the Nocturnal (2016) and Dem Times (2020) EPs, as well as his sophomore album Mixed Emotions (2023), featuring collaborations with Coi Leray and Jada Kingdom.
Beyond his solo career, he founded the collective Unlock the Underground, supporting emerging artists. His music is influenced by artists like Michael Jackson, Drake, and The Weeknd.
