Biography
Rema is a Nigerian singer and rapper who rose to fame with "Dumebi" in 2019 and gained global success with "Calm Down" in 2022, featuring Selena Gomez.
Born in Benin City, Nigeria, he developed a passion for music in secondary school. He signed with Jonzing World in 2019 after a viral freestyle caught D'Prince’s attention.
His debut album Rave & Roses (2022) produced the hit "Calm Down," which topped charts and earned multiple awards. His Ravage EP followed in 2023.
In 2024, he released HEIS, featuring collaborations with Nigerian artists like Shallipopi and ODUMODUBLVCK. The album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album.
Rema is credited with pioneering "Afrorave," blending Afrobeats with global influences. He continues to break records and shape the global Afrobeats movement.
