Biography
Rotimi, born Olurotimi Akinosho on November 30, 1988, is a Nigerian-American actor and singer, known for his roles on Power and The Chi.
He confirmed his return in season 7 of The Chi in 2024.
Rotimi grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, in a Yoruba family. He attended Columbia High School, where he excelled in both basketball and choir, before graduating from Northwestern University in 2010 with a degree in Communication and a Business minor.
He started his acting career as Darius Morrison on Boss and later appeared in Betrayal and films like Black Nativity and Divergent. Rotimi also starred in Power as Andre Coleman, becoming a series regular.
In addition to acting, Rotimi is a contemporary R&B artist who released two mixtapes in 2011 and has performed with artists like Jennifer Hudson and T.I. He signed with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records in 2015, releasing singles like "Lotto."
Rotimi's music includes popular tracks like "Doin it" and "Love Riddim," gaining significant attention from fans worldwide.
