Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1976, known for their melodic hard rock sound and massive commercial success, especially in the 1980s and 1990s.
Their early albums, On Through the Night (1980) and High 'n' Dry (1981), gained attention, but Pyromania (1983) propelled them to international fame, earning Diamond certification in the US.
The band's biggest success came with Hysteria (1987), which sold over 30 million copies worldwide and featured hits like "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and "Love Bites."
Following the death of guitarist Steve Clark in 1991, they released Adrenalize (1992), which topped the charts. Later albums, including Diamond Star Halos (2022), continued their legacy.
With over 100 million records sold, Def Leppard are among the world's best-selling artists and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
