Doechii (born Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon in 1998) is an American rapper and songwriter. Gaining fame on TikTok, she later signed with Top Dawg and Capitol Records.
Her 2023 single What It Is (Block Boy) featuring Kodak Black marked her Billboard Hot 100 debut. In 2024, her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal won a Grammy for Best Rap Album, making her the third woman to achieve this. The mixtape also produced hits like Nissan Altima and Denial Is a River.
Beyond music, Doechii has acted, starring in the 2023 drama Earth Mama. She has collaborated with artists like Tyler, the Creator, Jennie, and Sleepy Hallow.
Earning a Grammy from multiple nominations, she also won Billboard’s Rising Star Award. She received nods from MTV VMAs, BET, and Soul Train Awards.
