Biography
Dua Lipa (born August 22, 1995) is an English-Albanian singer, songwriter, and actress. She has won seven Brit Awards and three Grammy Awards.
Raised in London, she moved to Kosovo as a teen before returning alone to London at 15. She gained attention by posting song covers online, which led to her breakthrough in the music industry.
Before her music career, she worked as a model and signed with Warner Bros. in 2014. Her 2017 debut album included hits like New Rules, which topped the UK charts. In 2018, she won Brit Awards for Best Female Solo Artist and Breakthrough Act. Her Calvin Harris collaboration One Kiss became the UK's best-selling song of that year.
Her second album, Future Nostalgia (2020), was her first UK number-one album. It included Don't Start Now, which spent record time in the UK top ten, and Levitating, which later became RIAA Diamond-certified. The album won a Brit Award for Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Lipa achieved more success with the Elton John duet Cold Heart (2021) and Dance the Night (2023) from the Barbie soundtrack, where she also acted. In 2024, she released Radical Optimism, debuting at number one in the UK, and appeared in the spy film Argylle.
