Biography

Dean Lewis is an Australian singer-songwriter best known for his heartfelt pop ballads like “Waves,” “Be Alright,” and “How Do I Say Goodbye.”

Inspired by Oasis, Lewis began writing music in the mid-2000s and signed with Island Records in 2016. His debut single “Waves” gained international attention, featuring in hit TV shows and earning multi-platinum status. The 2017 EP Same Kind of Different and his chart-topping 2018 single “Be Alright” solidified his breakthrough.

His debut album A Place We Knew (2019) showcased emotionally raw songwriting and global appeal. He collaborated with Martin Garrix in 2019 on “Used to Love,” adding an electronic edge to his catalog. Lewis continued to release emotionally driven singles like “Falling Up” and “Hurtless.”

In 2022, The Hardest Love explored themes of grief and closure, with the standout track “How Do I Say Goodbye” going viral and receiving multiple international certifications.

Lewis released his third album The Epilogue in 2024, capping a run of deeply personal music. He also supported AJR on tour that year, further expanding his global fanbase.
