Brett Young is an American country pop artist known for blending West Coast smoothness with Nashville storytelling, creating heartfelt radio-ready hits.
Originally a college baseball pitcher, Young shifted to music after an elbow injury cut his athletic dreams short. His self-titled 2016 debut EP included the platinum hit “In Case You Didn’t Know,” which launched his rise in country music. He followed with the albums Ticket to L.A. (2018) and Weekends Look a Little Different These Days (2021).
Born in Anaheim, California, Young played baseball at Ole Miss and Fresno State. He first sang publicly during a worship event in high school, stepping in for a missing vocalist.
After college, Young pursued songwriting full-time, relocating to Nashville and working with top producers like Dann Huff. Singles like “Sleep Without You” and “Like I Loved You” solidified his status as a chart-topping artist.
