Biography
Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr, aka Bakar, is an English singer known for his experimental indie rock style, debuting with his mixtape 'Badkid' in 2018.
Bakar began creating music in 2015 by cutting samples and uploading remixes on SoundCloud. His early single 'Big Dreams' later featured on FIFA 19’s soundtrack.
In 2018, he released his mixtape Badkid and performed at Live at Leeds and The Great Escape, earning praise as one of Britain’s most exciting new acts.
In 2019, Bakar signed with Black Butter and released the EP Will You Be My Yellow? The sleeper hit 'Hell n Back' topped the Triple A chart and earned Gold certification in Australia.
He continued to build his profile with his debut album Nobody’s Home in 2022 and his second album Halo in 2023, further establishing his innovative sound. His bold approach continues to influence the indie music scene.
