Biography
Sheck Wes is an American rapper best known for his viral 2017 hit “Mo Bamba,” which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018.
Born Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall in Harlem in 1998, he spent part of his youth in Milwaukee before returning to New York. Raised in a Muslim household, he began making music at age 11 as a creative outlet during a turbulent childhood. He also pursued basketball and briefly modeled for Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3.
In 2018, Wes signed a joint deal with Kanye West’s GOOD Music and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack label under Interscope Records. That year, he released his debut album Mudboy, which featured gritty beats and aggressive delivery, gaining him further exposure.
Though often labeled a one-hit wonder, Wes continued releasing singles like “YKTS,” “Rich One Day,” and “Sadio Mane.” He also featured on Travis Scott’s Astroworld and the Cactus Jack compilation JackBoys.
In 2023, he appeared on the original version of “Fe!n” by Travis Scott, maintaining a presence in the hip hop scene through collaborations and sporadic releases.
