Sabrina Carpenter, born May 11, 1999, in Philadelphia, is an American singer-songwriter and actress.
She began acting as a child, with early roles in Law & Order: SVU and Sofia the First.
Her breakthrough came in 2014 as Maya Hart on Disney’s Girl Meets World, where she also sang the theme song. That same year, she released her debut single, “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying,” and later signed with Hollywood Records.
She released her debut album, Eyes Wide Open (2015), followed by EVOLution (2016), which introduced a more mature pop sound. Her third and fourth albums, Singular: Act I (2018) and Singular: Act II (2019), continued her artistic evolution.
In 2022, her fifth album, emails i can’t send, featured hit singles like “because i liked a boy.” In 2024, she achieved mainstream success with Espresso, her first top-ten hit, followed by Please Please Please, which became her first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her sixth album, Short n' Sweet, was released in August 2024, solidifying her place in pop music.
