Biography
Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill in 1999, is an American rapper and singer. He gained fame with "Old Town Road," the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
After going viral, he signed with Columbia Records and released 7, featuring "Panini" and "Rodeo." His debut album, Montero (2021), reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and included hits like "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" and "Industry Baby."
Lil Nas X has won multiple awards, including two Grammys, and was named one of Time’s most influential people in 2021. He also became the youngest recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award.
Raised in Georgia, he was active online before starting music. He recorded "Old Town Road" in 2018 on a low budget, using memes to promote it. The song’s TikTok success led to a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus.
Since then, he has continued pushing boundaries with bold visuals and hit songs. Blending hip-hop and pop, Lil Nas X remains a trailblazer, using his platform to challenge norms and celebrate self-expression.
