Craig David (born 5 May 1981) is an English singer who gained fame in 1999 with Artful Dodger’s hit "Re-Rewind". His debut album Born to Do It (2000) brought global success.
Born in Southampton, David was raised by his mother after his parents separated. His father, a reggae musician, introduced him to music, and as a teen, he began MCing at local clubs.
David’s first solo hits, including "7 Days" and "Walking Away", made him a global star. He signed with Wildstar Records and went on to release multiple albums, blending R&B, garage, and pop.
Over the years, David has reinvented his sound while maintaining a strong fan base. He has received multiple BRIT and MOBO Awards, proving his lasting influence in the music industry.
Outside of music, David has spoken about personal struggles, including bullying in school, which inspired his 2005 song "Johnny". He continues to perform and create, cementing his legacy.
