Vybz Kartel is a Jamaican dancehall deejay known for his provocative lyrics, larger-than-life persona, and influence on global music.
Often called "Worl' Boss," he remains a defining figure in dancehall.
His hits include Romping Shop (2009), Dancehall Hero (2010), and Summer Time (2011), and he has collaborated with artists like Rihanna and Major Lazer.
Despite his 2014 conviction for murder, Kartel continued releasing music from prison, dropping over 50 songs in 2016 alone, further cementing his legend.
In March 2024, the UK Privy Council overturned his conviction due to juror misconduct, and by July 2024, he was released after the Jamaican Court of Appeal declined a retrial.
