Biography
The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band formed in 1994, best known for their 2003 hit In the Shadows and their Eurovision 2022 entry Jezebel.
Originally called Rasmus, the band started in Helsinki while the members were in school, releasing early albums with a funk-rock sound before transitioning to a darker, melodic rock style.
Their breakthrough came with Dead Letters (2003), which sold over 2 million copies worldwide. The band continued evolving with albums like Hide from the Sun (2005) and Black Roses (2008).
In 2022, they represented Finland in Eurovision with Jezebel and introduced new guitarist Emilia Suhonen, replacing founding member Pauli Rantasalmi.
With over 5 million albums sold, multiple awards, and a dedicated global fanbase, The Rasmus remains one of Finland's most successful rock bands.
